Bowling finish top 10 at NJCAA Nationals, 2 All-Americans named

Jackson College Jets men's and women's bowling teams competed this weekend at the NJCAA Bowling National Championships at Royal Scot Bowling Center in Lansing.

The women finished 6th, battling through tough conditions and averaging 168 in baker games, the third-highest among all teams. With only five bowlers, the Lady Jets competed the entire weekend without substitutions. Leading the way were Sydney Nichols (186 avg.), Mikayla Deboe (174) and Madason McDonald (157). Nichols and Deboe finished 9th overall in doubles.

The men placed 8th, led by Andrew Sackett (213.7 avg.), Zach Kremer (183), Brice Sandoval (174) and Owen Sears (173). Sackett and Sears also finished 3rd in doubles, averaging 216 as a team.

For the fifth straight year, the Jets had All-Americans, with Andrew Sackett and Sydney Nichols both finishing No. 2 overall.
