Bowling’s Marissa Wood takes first place in Muskegon

Congratulations to Jackson College's Marissa Wood on her first place finish at the Feb. 19 Great Lakes Classic bowling tournament, held at Northway Lanes in Muskegon.

In addition to her individual win, Wood led the women's team to a second place overall finish, out of nine teams competing. Wood bowled a 608 series (191, 191, 226) and had high game with her 226.

Also in the top 10, Jackson's Shelby Miller finished sixth with a 560 series (190, 173, 197), and Lailah Maull finished eighth with a 531 series (203, 148, 180). For the Jets, Kaylee Hall bowled a 512 (171, 168, 173), Allison Fagan 445 (146, 148, 151), Morgan Sedlecky 399 (124, 147, 128), and Hailey Thornhill 338 (105, 114, 119).

The Jets men finished in third place overall out of nine teams. Bradlee Ramsey took 12th with a 583 series (146, 222, 215). Mason Rutan bowled at 532 series (178, 181, 173), Jack Schultz 526 (152, 170, 204), Toby Tyler 520 (192, 167, 161), Collin Baldwin 480 (152, 157, 171), and Nathan Sedlecky 438 (118, 196, 124).

The Jets host the Jackson College Invitational on Friday, Feb. 27 at Albion's University Lanes.
