Campbell (Goal, Assist) Helps Owens Close Regular Season With 3-1 Road Win Over Jackson

Jackson, Mich.---The Owens Community College men's soccer team captured a 3-1 victory over Jackson College on the road today in its regular season finale.

Reiss Liggitt (Seminole/Birmingham, England) gave Owens a one goal lead just 13:06 into the game on a pass from Bjion Campbell (Coconut Creek/Margate, Fla.). Just over eight minutes later, Ahmad Jarrar (Hendersonville/Hendersonville, N.C.) scored on a penalty kick to give Owens a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Jackson's Gejsi Rada scored unassisted at the 49:45 mark to pull his team within one. Campbell, however, scored an insurance goal for the Express at the 65:21 mark. It came on an assist from Cameron Jacques (De La Salle/Shelby Township, Mich.).

Jarrar inched closer to Matt Almester (St. John's Jesuit/Toledo, Ohio) for the team lead in scoring with his goal today. The sophomore scored his 13th goal to pull within three points of Almester, who sat out today's game due to yellow card accumulation. Jarrar also raised his career totals to 23 goals and 15 assists.

Campbell, meanwhile, scored his sixth goal and added his 10th assist of the season today. He pushed his career totals to 18 goals and 14 assists. Jacques picked up his first assist of the season. Liggitt, who missed the team's last game, returned to the starting lineup and scored his fourth goal of the season.

Owens closes its regular season at 12-7-1 overall and 10-6 in Region XII play. They will open postseason play with a Region XII quarterfinal match vs Lake Michigan on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at home. Should Owens win, they would advance to the Region XII Final Four next weekend.

Jackson closes its season at 3-11-2 overall and in Region XII play.

Jarrar is now eighth in career goals and tied for eighth in career assists and career points.
